Your fitting is a chance to see how the garment works on you and to explain how it feels. You do not need tailoring vocabulary to take part. Clear, simple feedback about comfort, movement and your preferred look is useful at every stage.
Bring the pieces you will wear together
If possible, bring your intended shirt and shoes. They help you and your tailor judge the relationship between the jacket sleeve and shirt cuff, and how the trousers sit over the shoe. For a wedding or special occasion, bring any accessories that are important to the outfit.
Reference photographs can explain your style preferences. A favourite garment can also show what you mean by a comfortable fit, although it does not replace taking the measurements and checking the new clothing.
Stand as you normally do
Relax your shoulders and avoid changing your posture for the mirror. A suit needs to work with your normal stance. After the initial check, sit, walk and move your arms naturally. Tell us what you notice rather than trying to diagnose the alteration yourself.
Describe the feeling as well as the appearance
Useful comments include “this pulls when I sit,” “I prefer more room here” or “I would like to compare a slightly different length.” Point out the area and describe the movement that makes the issue noticeable. We can then discuss the options with you.
A close fit and a comfortable fit are not always the same thing. Explain whether you want a more fitted look or extra ease for everyday use so the discussion reflects how you plan to wear the clothing.
Understand a garment in progress
Depending on the stage, you may see temporary stitches, pins or an unfinished sleeve. Our silent suit fitting video shows a tailor checking a pinstripe garment while it is still being refined. Ask which parts are ready to assess and which are awaiting further work.
Fitting adjustments and your schedule
Fitting adjustments to clothing ordered from Star Fashion Bangkok are included at no extra charge. Our own tailoring factory is just 10 minutes from the shop, allowing our family of tailors to work closely together and arrange fittings as needed.
Tell us your departure date before placing an order. The fitting plan depends on your garment, chosen details and the time available. Confirm collection or shipping arrangements directly with our team instead of leaving them until the last day.
